I had a battered old acoustic guitar amplifier that was ready for the amp graveyard. But instead of discarding it I ripped the guts out of it, threw away the casing and set about getting the electronics working again.
A simple fix got it working so then I set about making a new case. I wanted a Mains/Battery operated amp so I made the case to incorporate an inverter and a battery acquired from my mother’s old mobility scooter. I also made use of the wheels from the scooter to help cope with transporting the weight.
The result was this amplifier, with built in mechanical reverb unit, that can be powered by battery or mains at the flick of a switch. A bracket on the back holds the guitar stand/footrest which in turn doubles as a pull handle for the amp.
